Alphaloy SAE 665x266
Alphaloy is an iron based powder metal alloy developed for hot end exhaust applications where expensive alloys such as stainless steels and nickel-based materials are commonly used. The alloying constituents are similar to ductile cast iron materials and retain the benefits of a ferritic microstructure. The absence of significant carbon facilitates high quality welding to dissimilar materials and does not require any post weld thermal treatment like many cast alloys. The alloy demonstrates superior resistance to cyclic hot oxidation and exhibits coefficient of thermal expansion properties in-line with stainless steels and ductile irons. In addition, the versatile forming capabilities of PM allow ASM to offer unique part geometries for a variety of robust mechanical joint configurations.
