ASM's superior manufacturing capabilities are led by some of the largest mechanical compacting presses in the industry.

ASM has Mechanical and Hydraulic presses, ranging from 12 to 880 tons pressing force.  We offer 200 to 880 ton multi-level presses capable of pressing parts having up to 5 levels with a maximum overall length of 3.5 inches.  These presses incorporate microprocessor controlled functions.

The size range of components at ASM is from just a few grams to 4+ pounds.  We specialize in large, structural components and produce numerous parts 2-4 pounds.  These large parts require an extra commitment for our tool and die shop, material handling, large process equipment and packaging.

A controlled amount of blended powder is fed into a die and pressed with opposing punches from 30 to 55 tsi to form the "green" compact.  This compact is the shape of the finished part and has sufficient strength for further processing.
