Molding
The process of making a powdered metal part begins with the suppliers. Basic parts are produced by combining desired metal powders into an alloy, which is fed into compaction molds, compacted to desired shape, and sintered to a specific size and density.
ASM has Mechanical and Hydraulic presses, ranging from 12 to 880 tons of pressing force. We offer 200 to 880 ton multi-level presses capable of pressing parts having up to 5 levels with a maximum overall length of 3.5 inches. The size range of components at ASM is from just a few grams to 4+ pounds. We specialize in large, structural components and produce numerous parts 2-4 pounds.
